Add ‘Control UserPasswords2’ to control panel

Have you ever tried a run command named ‘control userpasswords2’? If not, then try it. ‘Control Userpasswords2’ opens the user accounts frame. From here one can configure user accounts (like add, remove, change properties, etc.). Also it has other advance features available. Now, to open this frame you have only this option of running the run command ‘Control Userpasswords2’. So, I’m providing a tweak on how to add ‘Control UserPasswords2’ to your control panel. I got this registry key from a site by adding which to your registry ‘Control UserPasswords2’ will be added to your control panel.

1. Open notepad and write the lines codes in it: (inside the # only)

##########################################

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{98641F47-8C25-4936-BEE4-C2CE1298969D}]

@="User Accounts 2"

"InfoTip"="Starts The Windows 2000 style User Accounts dialog"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{98641F47-8C25-4936-BEE4-C2CE1298969D}\DefaultIcon]

@="%SystemRoot%\\\\System32\\\\nusrmgr.cpl,1"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{98641F47-8C25-4936-BEE4-C2CE1298969D}\Shell]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{98641F47-8C25-4936-BEE4-C2CE1298969D}\Shell\Open]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{98641F47-8C25-4936-BEE4-C2CE1298969D}\Shell\Open\command]

@="Control Userpasswords2"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ControlPanel\NameSpace\{98641F47-8C25-4936-BEE4-C2CE1298969D}]

@="Add Userpasswords2 to Control Panel"

##########################################

2. Save the file name with .reg extension. (e.g. test.reg)
3. Merge the file to your registry
4. Open control panel, you’ll find ‘User Accounts2’ there.

New way of learning

Who know how would have I been had I got the right kind of education. May be I would have been a manager or a lecturer or a doctor. But 'coz I didn't get the right environment for learning, I am none of them. But I won't let my chlidrens face the same situation that I faced. I will provide them with the right education and the right kind of enviroment to learn. I am planning to join Score's Innovative Programs and use their new way of learning for childrens(especially between the age of 4 to 14). I've heard from a friend whose brother has benefited a lot from Score Learning that, Score has got some of the best Math Tutors and an excellent enviromnent for learning. I am glad that after atending this program, my children are going to have a good, secure future.

Enable/Disable System Properties Access from My Computer

This tweak is especially important for restricting other users from making unnecessary changes to Computer’s System Properties. This tweak actually removes the display of the System Properties via My Computer as well as via Control Panel. For this :

  1. Start -> run ->regedit
  2. go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
  3. Modify/Create DWORD Value of Data type REG_DWORD named ‘NoPropertiesMyComputer’ (without quotes)
  4. Change the value to 1 to hide the properties. To display the properties change the value to 0
  5. Exit Registry

Now, if you try to see the System Properties of the computer, it won’t be visible.

My file system is NTFS but the security tab won’t appear in the properties of the drive/folder

A friend of mine asked me this question few days ago; he has converted his file system from FAT32 to NTFS. He had heard that there is security feature in NTFS. But even after conversion to the NTFS, the security tab won’t appear in the properties of the drive or folder. What actually has happened is that by default the files and folders use simple file sharing due to which the security tab is hidden. For displaying it:

  1. start -> Run -> control folders (Folder option frame opens)
  2. In view tab -> Advance settings, expand files and folders
  3. In the bottom uncheck ‘Use simple file sharing (Recommended)’
  4. Click ‘OK’

Walla…now, if you check the properties of files and folders, the security appears

Coupon Codes for online shopping

There are rumors about online shopping that it is expensive when products are bought online and also due to high delivery charges, people usually don’t prefer to shop online. But if you get the same products that you can find in your local market …online and can get it in a cheaper price, wouldn’t it be great? Yes, this is possible or real. You just need to know where and how to get the better deal for yourself. Most might not be familiar with the word ‘coupon codes’ and what it does or what it is used for. Using Coupon code is a great way to save our money. It is just like a ticket by using which you can get a certain amount of discount while buying the product online. It’s always a good deal when you can get the product you like in a cheaper price than that actually rated, isn’t it? RetailMeNot is one of the sites that provide the features of using coupon codes while shopping online. In a short time period, it has grown into one of the most popular coupon code over the internet. Some of the coupons that I personally liked are newegg coupon code and computer coupon codes.

Reset your wallet

This time I am deviating a little bit from my usual computer tweaks and taking you around the simple trick that will solve you one of your mobile problems. Actually, I have a Nokia 6230 mobile phone. What happened was that when I bought that phone, I didn’t know about the wallet. Later I found out that it was used to store personal information link credit card info., personal notes, etc. But it was too late. I had already put a password in it and also forgotten the password. Then just today a friend of mine gave me a code the when entered reset you wallet password and keeps it blank. But the tragic thing is that, with it the information stored in it also gets lost. Anyways, I’ll be giving out this code. But I won’t be responsible for any of its consequences.

[note: for this to work you’ll be needing the security code of your mobile]

Code to reset you wallet password: *#7370925538#

Burn Notice's YOU'RE FIRED!!!

Well, if you are a big series fan, then there is great news for you all. And if you are more into CIA stuffs….investigations, secrets and stuffs like that, then it’s a jackpot. A newTV series called Burn Notice is going to be released by USA Networks. The series will be starting from June 28th and the lead role is being played by none other than Jeffrey Donovan who is playing the role of a CIA agent – Michael Weston in USA Network's Burn Notice. He is fired when he was still on an assignment.

I can’t tell for sure why he was fired ‘coz until the series in released nobody can predict the story but I’m going to make a hunch. What I think is the reason behind the firing is that Jeffrey is a very loyal and uncorrupted agent and like in most of the movies and stories and even serials, he might have been the victim of corruption and treachery. In today’s world’ there is no place for a loyal person. If a person is loyal and uncorrupted, he is an obstruction for others and other …they try to get rid of him. Similar might have been the case in this series also. This was just a guess. For the real stuff, you have to watch the series for yourself. Enjoy!

Force Use of Classic Start Menu

If it’s you personal computer, then you may not like others to change the way it looks. Some people changes the settings in your computer the way they like. Well, it’s not fair. They should do that and a way to make them not change your setting is to force them the use of your settings. The process is simple. I like classic start menu and I’ve loaded the Classic Start Menu in such a way that it is impossible to change back to the Windows XP version.

  1. Start -> Run -> Regedit
  2. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
  3. Modify/Create DWORD Value of data type REG_DWORD Named [NoSimpleStartMenu]
  4. Default value is 0, make it 1 to force the Classic Start Menu
  5. Exit registry and reboot

Pet Insurance

It seems a kind of silly thing to do. I mean even all the people might not have their own life insurance, then where did this pet insurance came from? Well, people since ancient time have been very much attached with pets. Pets are very useful in certain cases (e.g. security from theft, etc) and it’s also been a kind of trend to keep pets. Most of the people who are fond of pets care for their pets in similar fashion they care for other person. Pets, like humans have to be taken to hospitals (veterinary) regularly for checkups and veterinary cost is increasing very much nowadays. That’s why pet health insurance has become very important. It as been surveyed that - one of the 3 pets will need emergency veterinary treatment every year. So, in such cases pet insurance is a must.

Sending message over the network

The fascinating thing about being in a network is the shared resources. One can easily access the resources of remote computer if it has permission for its access. Another important feature that I’ve realized is communication. The workstations in a network can communicate with each other. Better the communication better will be the result. Chat applications, video conferencing, net meeting are all the means by which workstations in remote place can communicate with each other. Other way that I just knew about is the ‘Messenger’ service of the Windows. It enables one to transmit net send and Alerter services messages between clients and serves. For this, first you have to start this service. Then in the command prompt type ‘net send computername message’ and enter. The message will be send to that computername. If you want to send the same message to all the clients of the workgroup the instead of ‘computername’ type ‘*’. I think it’s the easiest way of sending message over the network and I frequently use it in my college to send jokes to my friends when we are in the lab.

GPS Units

Everybody gets lost sometime. If not in his or her own locality, then may be in another place. I know my aunt once got lost in US when she was just roaming around. She couldn’t even find her way to her home. GPS devices tell you where you are and where you are going, so that you are never lost. www.gigaweb.com provides you with the best GPS devices. Its main motto is providing the customers with excellent customer service. Actually wanted to fit he tracking system into my friend’s body so that I'm always aware of the fact that where they are. But may be I’ll do that in future. Anyways GPS units in cars will protects you vehicles and also helps monitor your children. Garmin or Tom Tom GPS Navagation units, iWay 600C Mobile/Marine GPS Unit with MP3, iFinder Go2 Hand-Held GPS Unit and others are just few of units available out there.

Don’t keep history of recently opened documents

Many people are fade up of the “recently opened documents”. Whatever files or documents they opened, others can see easily in the “recently opened documents” in the start menu. Normal desktop users don’t know how make it go away. So, this is for them.

1. Go to start menu
2. click ‘run’ and type ‘gpedit.msc’ and enter
3. The group policy opens
4. In the Local Computer -> User Configuration -> Administrative Template select ‘Start Menu and Taskbar’
5. In the right pane, there is an option ‘Do not keep history of recently opened documents’, enable is and click ‘OK’

After enabling this setting, the system doesn’t display shortcuts of recently opened documents. Also try to use another setting just below it called ‘Clear history of recently opened documents’ for deleting all the shortcuts to recently used document files when the user logs off.

PersonalHomeLoanMortgages.com

Mortgage Refinance is one of the ways one can use to reduce their interest rates and save money over the life of their home loan. In this a borrower pays down an old loan with a new loan. Also it has got different mortgage calculators to calculate mortgage payment, refinance, interest, etc. PersonalHomeLoanMortgages is in overall the home loan mortgages specialist.

Change your default homepage

This is a very simple trick but the way to do the trick is a unique one. I guess everybody can change their default homepage to the site that they like. It’s easy… just open the browser (internet explorer), go to Tool -> Internet Options then change the address to the one you like to go to when the browser starts. Well, this is in a way the right way but I’ve found another way to do the same thing.

1. Right-click on the Internet Explorer icon on your desktop and select "Properties"

2. In "Target" box you will see "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE"

3. Now add the URL of the site to the end of this e.g.

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" www.craze4tech.com

4. This overrides any Homepage setting in internet options such that when you open the browser using this icon the url of the page that you set will open

Key Loggers

Key Loggers are the best choice you got if you want to know what others are doing on your own computer while you are not at home (or office). Key loggers record each key stroke from the keyboard from login till the time one logoff. Some key loggers even take snapshot or video of the desktop in certain interval of time so that it would be easy for you to monitor.

The purpose key loggers were built were for monitoring you computer usage when you are away but people are using them for wrong purpose such hacking password of their account. Since many key loggers start in stealth mode right after being logged on, people fall into the trap and give out their passwords. This is in a kind a very big crime. If in cyber, the owner starts keeping Key Logger, then they can easily get the customer’s mail box, bank account and other passwords. Then can even read their mail like this.

There are several kinds of key loggers available. Few that I’ve used are Golden Keylogger, Family KeyLogger, IOPUS and Remote KeyLogger.

Get Clocked

People never cease to amaze with unique stuffs. Today, I went to a friend’s home and when I watched the time there, to my surprise …. it was his photo inside the clock. First, I thought that it was a silly thing to do. I mean who would put his own pictures inside the clock with his hands pointing out at the time. Then I figure out that it was fun thing to do to some extent. Also we can give it as a personal gift or clock someone in his/her memory. igotclocked.com is where you can make your own clock and order. You’ll get an animated .gif file within 36 hours and 3 weeks later, the actual clock will be in your doorsteps. No need to worry, they won’t censor you. IGotClocked.com was named "Dot-Com of the Day" for top Japanese website. I’m getting a clocked in memory of my late dog huffy. May his soul rest in peace.

VOD

VOD is an acronym of “Video on Demand” which is similar to electronic video rental store. In it, the selection of channel is made at home using the TV set’s remote control and the video starts immediately. But the inner process is much more complicated than it looks. If VOD is going to be a complete success, then the customer has to be able to start, stop and rewind the video at will. Giving users this ability virtually forces the video provider to transmit a separate copy to each user. Since, this is very difficult to achieve in reality, the concept of near VOD has been brought forward in which pause/resume isn’t possible but a viewer can switch to another channel and see the same video 10 minutes back. In this some material will be repeated but no missed. This offers the potential for lower costs because the same feed from the video server can go to many users at once.

PayPerPost Gets $7Million in Funding

I saw the $10.77 opportunity in payperpost.com, I read it and I was very delighted to know that payperpost received $7 million dollars in funding this morning. It is amazing news. The investors surely have invested a lot in PPP and I am sure they won’t regret for that. I am a PPP postie and it is great news for me too. That much huge amount of funding will help posties like us to get a hold of great opportunities.

I have a PR 0 blog and I usually get opps that has very minimum offers (mostly from $5-$8). So, with this much big funding… I think that PPP should give opps of a little higher amount, explicitly to the new posties in town with low PR so that we are encouraged to continue working for PPP. Also, no offence ….I like the reservation system PPP has but don’t you think it’s a little longer.

Anyways, the newest feature that PPP has added called blogger directory from where you can hire directly to promote or review your product and service is a cool feature. Now it’s easier for the advertiser to find to right for advertisement and also for the bloggers as they won’t have to fight for the opps.

More information about where PPP got the funds from and other stuffs can be obtained from the press release below :

The PayPerPost Revolution Accelerates, Sponsored
Blogging Marketplace Secures $7 Million Series B

Draper Fisher Jurvetson leads round and joins Board of Directors

ORLANDO, FL – (June 12, 2007) – PayPerPost, the leading marketplace for advertisers to reach bloggers and other consumer content creators, today announced it has completed a $7 million second round investment led by Draper Fisher Jurvetson, an investor in the company's Series A and one of the world’s leading high-technology venture capital firms. The financing brings the total amount of capital raised by PayPerPost to over $10 million, giving the company considerable resources for further development as the industry’s leading Consumer Generated Advertising marketplace. Additional participants in the round include existing investors Inflexion Partners and Village Ventures as well as new investor DFJ Gotham. With this investment, DFJ Managing Director Josh Stein also joins PayPerPost’s Board of Directors.

“PayPerPost created this exciting new advertising space and has established itself as the industry leader,” said Ted Murphy, chief executive officer of PayPerPost. “Although we’ve only used a portion of our first round capital, this added support from investors unlocks significant growth potential. Our content creator and advertiser ROI metrics clearly demonstrate the upside for PayPerPost’s model. We intend to use this capital to build the infrastructure, visibility and professional expertise necessary to reach and retain a greater network of advertisers and content creators than ever before.”

Since its founding in June of 2006, PayPerPost has signed more than 6,500 advertisers to its groundbreaking service, which has enabled Consumer Content Creators to be compensated for their efforts discussing specific companies, products or services via blogs, videos or other media. The content creators are required to disclose relationships with advertisers on their blog, providing transparency for the end reader. Over 125,000 Internet postings, most in the form of blogs, have already earned money for their creators through PayPerPost’s innovative marketplace. PayPerPost recently released PayPerPost Direct, a disruptive new service that allows advertisers to contract and negotiate directly with individual bloggers they identify through a safe, managed system.

“PayPerPost has laid a strong foundation for the future,” noted Tim Draper, founder and managing director of Draper Fisher Jurvetson. “It continues to attract a critical mass of participants from both the advertising and blogging communities. Analogous to Overture’s sponsored search model, we believe PayPerPost’s business model holds disruptive potential and will enable the company to thrive in the evolving paid-content arena.”

To mark the $7 million dollar funding, PayPerPost has launched a new website detailing the company’s service offering at http://www.payperpost.com. Bloggers and advertisers can easily sign up at the site and begin leveraging the self service marketplace.

Misconception about formatting your hard drive

There has been a misconception among many that formatting your hard drive many times damages it. If this would have been the case, then right now I should have been using another hard disk. I bought my computer few years back and I’ve formatted is so many times that I don’t even remember. Just a day after I bought it, it’s ‘ntldr’ file was missing and the OS didn’t boot. At that time, I didn’t have any idea about it… so I formatted my hard disk. Few days back, same kind of problem occurred and I took my computer to the retailer from where I bought the computer from. They too formatted the hard drive. Some months back, I had to format it again due to virus. After that, I stopped counting how many times I formatted?

I had studied in one of my subject that the head of the hard disk don’t even touches the platter while reading or writing from it. There is a very small gap between the head and the platter. Same is the case with formatting. The head actually never touches the platter. So, there is no possibility of the disk being damaged. The only possibility that I’ve seen is if somehow the dust got into the hard disk, it may scratch the platter – called bad sector. Else formatting your hard dick often and installing a new OS improves the computer performance.

Get a Pingo Phone card

Remember when we used to go to phone booths to make phone calls? How hard it was? First get some coins, then go to the booth, dial the number you want to make call at, insert the coin and then talk…the process it so time consuming and at the right moment your time is over and you have to look for another coin. It’s all past now. Nowadays, long distance phone cards are available widely for the convenience of the consumers. It’s so easy to use phone cards compare to the traditional coin system.

I frequently call abroad because many of my friends and relatives are abroad. If I am even a little less irregular at calling them, they start complaining that I’ve forgotten them. So, I have to call them regularly and everybody knows how expensive it is to make international calls. At time like these, money and quality service is the main concern and Pingo is the cheapest and reliable calling card that I could find. It has made a commitment to the customers to provide the phone card international. So, if you want to make a call to any part of the world, Pingo’s phone card international service is available for you. Pingo has no any hidden charges attached with the best competitive rates you can get worldwide. I’m sure it is the last calling card that you’ll ever need.

Deep Freeze - unfreezer

Deep Freeze is a very good s/w that can be used to protect you computer from virus, Trojan horse, worms and other unwanted stuffs. It’s the ultimate s/w for internet users. You just put the status of Deep Freeze in the frozen mode, restart your computer and start surfing over the internet. Next time you restart your computer, your computer will be in the previous state. The entire virus and the worms will be gone. Even any changes made by you won’t be there.

So, you must be thinking that this is a very good tool for security and everybody should have it installed in their computer. But, this s/w has a serious drawback. If you have loaded the status of Deep Freeze to frozen state and if you have forgotten the password, then you are doomed. There is no other option except formatting your hard disk because in frozen state, you won’t be able to save anything in your computer and without being able to save anything in your computer, it’s of no use.

My cousin brother owns a cyber and had a similar problem. He forgot the password and was unable to install anything. After restarting the computer, everything he installed was gone. He asked me and I searched over the internet to finally find a solution. There is another s/w (.exe file) called Deep Freeze Unfreezer which can be used to change the status of Deep Free without the need of your Deep Freeze password. It can be downloaded from http://usuarios.arnet.com.ar/fliamarconato/pages/edeepunfreezer.html . I got him this s/w and his problem was solved in a minute.

Cycling for fun

I used to ride bicycle a lot when I was a kid but since the day my Dad bought me a motorbike, I have almost left cycling. Nowadays, I am in need of a cycle only when there is strike ‘coz at that time we are not allowed to ride motorcycle and even the micro and mini buses aren’t running. So, there is no other option at that time.

Anyways, still I am thinking of getting a cycle…. a beach cruiser bike may be from xyzbikes.com . These bikes aren’t really the racing bikes. They are just for those who ride for fun and during their leisure time. I personally am not that much of a fast rider, so I guess I don’t need to worry too much in this case. I am just concerned with my growing calories. Everyone’s saying that I’m getting fat. So, thinking of doing a little exercise. Cycling is just a means to loss few pounds. Also no need to worry about how it will be sent to you and how you are supposed to assemble it. They will send you by whatever means possible. It’s not our concern whatsoever. I have heard that 80% of the bike is already assembled. So, fixing the rest shouldn’t be a big problem either. I think everyone should grab a beach cruise for themselves.

Make your own “Shut Down” shortcut

How many of you know, what actually happens inside when we press a button that we see on our computer? How the computer shuts down just by a simple click on a button? Well, I too don’t know how stuffs work inside. It’s too complicated but I my job is to try to find out how to do rather than to know why it happened.

So, I may not know what’s actually happening but I sure can make my own shortcut of shutdown, restart or logoff and place it anywhere so that I can just click it and turn off the computer or logoff. The trick is simple. It’s same as making other shortcuts.

  1. Right-Click where you want to make the shortcut
  2. Select New -> Shortcut
  3. In the location of the file name, just type ‘shutdown’ or ‘logoff’ and press ‘Next’
  4. Type the name of the shortcut and Finish

And your shortcut is ready to use. Now just click or press the shortcut you made to logoff or shutdown.

Paintball guns

People may think that paintball guns are for kids only or that it’s a child’s stuff to play. Well, I completely disagree with them. I am over 20 and I love to play with paint balls and paint ball guns. For those who don’t like paint balls, they must visit http://www.pntball.com once and then say what they have to say about playing with paint balls. Pntball.com is the ultimate paint ball selling company. It has all sorts of paint ball guns and gears. Some of the top guns available here are Tippmann A-5, Tippmann 98 Custom, Smart Parts Ion, Spyder Pilot ACS. My favorite is the Tippmann A-5 Paintball Marker Gun M4 Sniper Set-5 which was $799.99 before but cost around $429 now. Just check out Pntball and I am sure that your thoughts on paintball will totally change.

Make screen saver out of your photo album

I have already mentioned about screensaver in my previous post. Once a friend asked me how we can put our pictures as screensaver. At that time I didn’t knew what to tell because I didn’t knew how to do so. Then later when I found out that Windows have a built in Screen Saver – My Picture Slideshow just for this purpose, I felt so stupid of myself. Such little things and they just go by without being noticed.
1. Right click in the desktop

Fun way to learn

Children especially between the ages 4-14 are more bent towards sports than studies. And in vacation most parents even complain that their children hardly open their books during holidays and ask the school to cut their holidays. I know this because it happened with me too when I was a kid. I’m not asking parents to allow their children to play or watch TV all the time. What I’m suggesting is that there should be a fun way to learn. A way which is like playing but at the same time also teaches kids something. Score Learning Centers provides a fun way for kids to catch up with their studies. I know a neighbor’s kid who came from one of the summer programs of Escore and he couldn’t get enough of talking about his Math tutors from the program. I was so amazed with that kid’s improvement after he came from that summer program. Now, I wished I had also joined such learning center.

JavaScript

JavaScript does not have any formal security model, but it does have a long history of leaky implementations. Each vendor handles security in a different way. For e.g., Netscape navigator version 2 used something similar to the java model, but by version 4 that had been abandoned for a code signing model.

The fundamental problem is that letting foreign code run on your machine is asking for trouble. From a security standpoint, it is like inviting a burglar into your house and then trying to watch him carefully so he cannot escape from the kitchen into the living room. If something unexpected happens and you are distracted for a moment, bad things can happen. The tension here is that mobile code allows flashy graphics and fast interaction, and many Web site designers think at this is much more important than security, especially when it is somebody else’s machine at risk.

Night Vision

Growing up as a child from a small town, I’ve always been scared of darkness. Night time was and still is the worst time for me. People out here frequently talk about ghosts and that they come out at night. At night, one can’t see anything so even a slight sound seems so scary as if there is a ghost outside. I know…. I couldn’t even go out for a pee at night alone. My father was very worried about me. The funny solution he came out with is he bought me a night vision goggles. He bought it from an online store - http://www.opticsplanet.net/ . Strange as it may sound but it is true. I too checked out the website and it’s full of cool stuffs. OpticsPlanet has got a wide selection of night vision scopes, binoculars, flashlights, tactical & military gear, heat seekers and lot more. Actually, I was looking for stuffs that I could use during night time. I’m planning to buy a binocular too. Anyways, I’m not scared of night anymore. That’s because through my night vision goggles I can see everything even during night time. And nowadays I go to pee alone at night.

ActiveX

ActiveX controls are Pentium binary programs that can be embedded in Web pages. When one of them is encountered, a check is made to see if it should be executed, and it if passes the test, it is executed. It is not interpreted or sandboxed in any way, so it has as much power as any other user program and can potentially do great harm. Thus, all the security is in the decision whether to run the ActiveX control.

Many people feel that trusting an unknown software company is scary. To demonstrate the problem, a programmer in Seattle formed a software company and got it certified as trustworthy, which is easy to do. He then wrote an ActiveX control that did a clean shutdown of the machine and distributed his ActiveX control widely. It shut down many machines, but they could just be rebooted, so no harm was done. He was just trying to expose the problem to the world. The official response was to revoke the certificate for this specific ActiveX control, which ended a short episode of acute embarrassment, but the underlying problem is still there for an evil programmer to exploit. Since there is no way to control thousands of software companies that might write mobile code, the technique of code signing is a disaster waiting to happen.

Start your own business

Everybody wants to own an own business. If asked hundred people if they want to work under some other boss, the hundred answers will be “No”. Of course, who wants to work for others if they can start their own? Right now, even I am not doing any job. I hold a bachelor’s degree and still I sit idly in home. That’s because I don’t want to work under some bald guy who doesn’t know anything of business and who is above me just because his was born in a rich family. Nay, I ain’t gonna let it happen. I’m starting my own business.

There is a website - www.incparadise.com that offers online filing service to start new corporation in all 50 states of America. You just need to visit the site and get all the information about where you want to get your corporation to be and the total cost that will incur. Also there is a separate section that answers all your queries regarding different entities like Limited Liability Company, S-Corporation, C-Corporation, etc. Incparadise just charges $89 and the rest is state fee for doing all that dirty paperwork required to start a new corporation. I went to its Virginia corporation page, viewed and compared the total price with its other competitors and found it quite an attractive offer. Even for a person like me it felt as if this was the right choice. I am onto start a new business. Where are you going?

Web pages itself are more dangerous than viruses

In the early days, when Web pages were just static HTML files, they did not contain executable code. Now, they often contain small programs, including Java applets, ActiveX controls, and JavaScripts. Downloading and executing such mobile code is obviously a massive security risk. For few days from now on, I'll be talking more on Applets, ActiveX controls, and JavaScripts. So, please bear me.

Java applets small Java programs compiled to a stack-oriented machine language called JVM (Java Virtual Machine). They can be placed on a Web page for downloading along with the page. After the page is loaded, the applets are inserted into a JVM interpreter inside the browser.

When an applet tries to use a system resource, its call is passed to a security monitor for approval. The monitor examines the call in light of the local security policy and then makes a decision to allow or reject it. In this way, it is possible to give applets access to some resources but not all. Unfortunately, the reality is that the security model works badly and that bugs in it crop up all the time.

Local Credit Card Debt

Credit Card companies are spending millions and trying their best to convince people to use credit cards. Indeed credit card is very useful but only if it is used wisely. Unwise use of credit card may be disastrous because the main source of profits of such firm is from people who are late in their payments.
