8-Bit Dynamic Life Shirt at ThinkGeek

ThinkGeek.com is one of my favorite sites as it has some of the coolest gadgets out there in the market. As I was watching for any new releases at ThinkGeek, my eyes stuck to a Shirt. This Shirt was no ordinary Shirt; it was an 8-Bit Dynamic Life Shirt. It got 6 heart shaped lights on its chest that actually glow. These shirts come in pairs. Buy one of these glowing shirts for yourself, and gift one to your significant other (boyfriend, girlfriend, husband). Still you think there is nothing amazing about it huh? Well, hear this fact then. During your normal activities two and a half pixelated hearts will light up on your shirt. But when you get within hugging distance of your significant other wearing the matching shirt and suddenly the hearts on both of your shirts start to light up until you're fully powered up. As you move farther, the lights go back to two and a half hearts again. Cool huh???

Green Laser Pointer

Laser Pointers are very much used during presentation or slide show or a meeting to point. It is portable and pen-sized designed to be held in the hand. Usually the laser pointers that we see are red laser pointer. But at .ThinkGeek I saw a green laser pointer. It says that this pointer is significantly brighter (about 50 times) than a red laser pointer and because of its unusual color it is much more noticeable. And unlike a red laser, the green beam itself can be seen in mid-air in dark conditions, not just the laser beam dot allowing the green laser pointer to be used for pointing to star constellations and also just generally look cool as hell.

I still think that Red is cooler than Green. And by the way what does a color make any difference. Red or Green…if it points clearly, it’s better.

Wi-Fi Detector T-Shirt

Here is another example on how much technology is advancing in today’s world and how much lazy it is making today’s people. All you must be familiar with wireless internet access technology called Wi-Fi. It’s a very popular term for Laptop users. Usually, we have to open up our Laptops to check if there is Wi-Fi internet access in that area or not. But now there is no need for that. There is a special shirt that displays the Wi-Fi signal strength to yourself and everyone around you.

Actually, it’s just looks like a normal t-shirt with an animated decal (with hook and loop fasteners) attached in front which you can peel off if you like to or when washing the shirt. Also there is a battery pack is concealed in a small pocket sewn inside the shirt. It shows a glowing bar on the front that dynamically changes with the fluctuation in Wi-Fi signal strength. I wonder if we can attach that animated decal in any of our shirts and make them a Wi-Fi Detector T-Shirt as well. One last thing …it can detect signals from only two networks, 802.11b and 802.11g but not at the same time. Whatever that means?

Ring-Style Fingertip USB Optical Mouse

I am beginning to think that there is no limitation of what can be achieved through science and technology. Even though we as a laymen or customers think that it’s the end, technology is still going to offer you something new the next morning when we wake up.

I came to know about this cool gadget through a friend and I was very fascinated by it. By now you might be wondering what this gadget really is and what it does. But this is nothing new device to us and it also does nothing new rather it’s just an old product in a new wrapper. The thing I am talking about is a mouse. Not just an ordinary mouse. It’s a Ring-Style Fingertip USB Optical Mouse that works by strapping to the index finger with buttons (2 buttons and scroll button) operated by the thumb. It is Plug and Play and works on any textured surface (clothes, pants, mouse pad, etc) just like a regular optical mouse. With it you can control the cursor and your type at the same time.

Here are its usage instructions from Deal Extreme:

· Insert the index finger into the elastic-ring and adjust your finger position until you feel comfortable and move the Finger Mouse smoothly. Do not adjust the elastic-ring too tight or it will interface with the effect of blood circulation

· Align your index finger tip and the Finger Mouse light sensor tip to the same height

· Use your thumb to control the 'Right Button', 'Left Button' and 'Scroll Wheel'

· Place your middle finger at the grip area to provide support when you are double-clicking

· Contact the USB Finger Mouse light sensor tip to the surface, such as clothes, trousers... for operation

Cool gadget. Hope someday there’s going to be a mouse which will point right where we see and click with a blink of en eye. I have my fingers crossed. Let's see what tomorrow holds for us.

All about watches

Well, a week ago may remember correctly one of my readers left a comment in one of my posts to write about his site watchreport.net. Well, first I went through that site and I found it to be a pretty cool site. Mine is a tech site with few advertisements and why not a post on watches. Watch Report got all the information on watches and how your life can change through the watches. At the time I visited that site there was a post on Unique Musical Wristwatch in the homepage and it was a great post on a unique musical wristwatch which was developed by Reuge, a Swiss music box producer under the brand name of Mermod Freres. I’d like my readers to visit this site if they want info on cool watches.

Fluorescent light powered wireless cams

I’ve heard about surveillance cameras that don’t need any wires and some cameras are so small that they can fit in your pen. This is something new to talk about a wireless camera that is powered by fluorescent light. This new type of camera was released be Japan's NEC which surprisingly powered by fluorescent light. The camera has a ring-shaped part that attaches to the bulb and gets its power from the magnetic field created by the AC source. And that’s not it. This camera has some built-in 802.11b WiFi capabilities to stream all that video (or, more specifically, an image every ten seconds) back to a PC, which can presumably be used to monitor little things going around and you don't have to run over power cables too. Cool!!! Huh?

Light Products

Light is something that everyone needs. It has become one of the vital parts of our lifestyle. After living is such a bright world, of course it is impossible now to live in darkness, without any light.

Many things have been innovated that produces or give out light. In the ancient age, fire was the chief source of light but today it has become the most unused source of light because the new technology has giving rise to different light products. Even I didn’t knew that there are so many light emitting products until I came across a site MagnaLight.com which has numerous light products…. many of which never even been heard before. You can find all types of Spotlights, Flashlights, HID rechargeable lights, HID rechargeable lights, searchlights, 24 volt lights, heavy duty LED Flashlights, Boat light, work lights and every other types of light that you could ever imagine in here. They have “Browse by category” feature to make you a little bit easier to search the type of light you are looking for. And if your order is over $300 the ground shipping is free. Its overall a good site and I recommend my readers to check it out at least.

Protect your ‘i’s

The title may look confusing but if I say that the ‘i’s stand for iPods and iPhones then the title will be clear as water. iPods and iPhones have gain a lot of popularity nowadays. Everyone is carrying an iPod in their pocket and the response towards iPhones is also very positive. People are liking iPhones too. Anyways, these things are pretty expensive and we have to be very cautious while using them. A drop and they may get damaged badly. Taking this into account PDO has come up with its range of iPod and iPhone accessories to protect your ‘i’s. Here you can find Leather Cases, Top skin, Screens Protector, Hip Case, cleaning kits and many other accessories for not only for your ‘i’s but also for other mp3 players, mobile phones, games and PDAs. These stuffs aren’t that expensive but are very useful and give good protection to our expensive toys.

Lantech WL54G-USB is ideal for satisfying the need of quick transmitting of multi-media purpose. WL54G-USB also features up to 64/128/256 bits WEP, WPA and AES encryption. RIM BlackBerry 8820

AT&T and Research in Motion officially released the RIM BlackBerry 8820, the first BlackBerry to offer integrated Wi-Fi. The 820 supports 802.11a/ standards and is compliant with Wi-Fi security protocols, giving users another avenue to connect to the web – a good thing since the device shows no love for 3G just yet. It also continues to offer Bluetooth and GPS support lie it’s older sibling, the RIM BlackBerry 8800, as will as push e-mail and multimedia. It’s a device built with the business user in mind and definitely won’t have the mass appeal of a BlackBerry Pearl of BlackBerry Curve. There’s not even a camera option. That said, for the intended audience the 8820 will certainly deliver the goods and performance.

iPod controller in your finger – iRing

Now all those who got an iPod don’t have to put their hands in their pockets whenever they have to switch to another song or increase/decrease the volume. With this new gadget that fits in your finger, it can be done at your will in just a matter of seconds.

iRing has it … the style and wireless Bluetooth connectivity with your iPod and iPhone that lets you control playback and volume on any of your Apple media devices. And the coolest part is that as its name suggests, it’s a ring that fits in your finger. iRing has got a bright OLED status display with touch-sensitive function strip (though I don’t thin it’s a good idea to have touch-sensitive function strip in it) and a rechargeable battery life of up to 2 days. Overall, it’s a good innovative product and I thing it will be appreciated by people unless it comes with some other drawbacks.

Dual SIM holder

Dual SIM holder is your solution if you want to get rid of the tension of buying 2 mobile phones because you got 2 SIM or getting the back and battery of your mobile time to time to change to another SIM. This is the simplest and cheapest solution that allows you to connect two SIM cards to your card slot.

It has many drawbacks too like it does not really work with both cards simultaneously. At a time only one SIM is active and the user has to turn off the mobile and back on to change to another SIM. Another kind of Dual SIM holder is there though in which SIM service is activated giving users the ability to switch to another SIM without turning off the mobile. Another big problem is that due to its bigger size it may not fit in some handsets. Hope they will make something else without these flaws someday.
