The world’s cheapest car : Tata Nano

This is one of the most exciting news that the whole world has been waiting to hear. The cheapest car of the world has been successfully manufactured by Tata Motors, India. It’s called the Nano. Tata has been working on it for few years now. Nicked named as the “Peoples’ car”, the Nano is set to change the face of not only the Indian car market, but the global auto industry with the cost of a mere 100,000 rupees (roughly $2,500).

Powered by a 623cc two-cylinder engine with 33 horsepower capable of 65 miles an hour, Nano is over 10 feet long, 5 feet wide, has got 4 doors, 4 small wheels at the absolute corners and a small big trunk. Though cheap it still meets the safety requirements and emission norms, to be fuel efficient and low on emissions.

This fantastic car will be out on sale in India later this year and Tata plans to offer the Nano in other emerging markets in Latin America, Southeast Asia and Africa within four years. Lets see, if this car is really as good as everyone is expecting it to be.

1967 SHELBY

Few years back I had seen a movie 'Gone in 60 Seconds' starring Nicolas Cage's. It was one of the best movies I’ve seen till now. The last car that Nicolas Cage has to steal was 1967 FORD SHELBY MUSTANG GT500 ELEANOR (1967 SHELBY). This car was a modified version of 1967 FORD SHELBY MUSTANG GT500 which actually featured a 1967 Mercury Cougar tail light panel minus the chrome trim, a flip-up spoiler, and two sets of air scoops on each side.

Later over $250,000 was spent in researching and engineering Eleanor. They added a body kit, functional side pipes, mag rims, sport tires and a hood scoop to ensure the Shelby would not be upstaged by the Porsches and Ferraris that also appeared in the movie. It has got a Ford 428 engine that pumps out 650 horsepower and close to 1,000 horsepower with nitrous. You can see the video

For details on other different cars you can check out RideLust.com. It has got some cool videos on cars.

Ring-Style Fingertip USB Optical Mouse

I am beginning to think that there is no limitation of what can be achieved through science and technology. Even though we as a laymen or customers think that it’s the end, technology is still going to offer you something new the next morning when we wake up.

I came to know about this cool gadget through a friend and I was very fascinated by it. By now you might be wondering what this gadget really is and what it does. But this is nothing new device to us and it also does nothing new rather it’s just an old product in a new wrapper. The thing I am talking about is a mouse. Not just an ordinary mouse. It’s a Ring-Style Fingertip USB Optical Mouse that works by strapping to the index finger with buttons (2 buttons and scroll button) operated by the thumb. It is Plug and Play and works on any textured surface (clothes, pants, mouse pad, etc) just like a regular optical mouse. With it you can control the cursor and your type at the same time.

Here are its usage instructions from Deal Extreme:

· Insert the index finger into the elastic-ring and adjust your finger position until you feel comfortable and move the Finger Mouse smoothly. Do not adjust the elastic-ring too tight or it will interface with the effect of blood circulation

· Align your index finger tip and the Finger Mouse light sensor tip to the same height

· Use your thumb to control the 'Right Button', 'Left Button' and 'Scroll Wheel'

· Place your middle finger at the grip area to provide support when you are double-clicking

· Contact the USB Finger Mouse light sensor tip to the surface, such as clothes, trousers... for operation

Cool gadget. Hope someday there’s going to be a mouse which will point right where we see and click with a blink of en eye. I have my fingers crossed. Let's see what tomorrow holds for us.

Creative To Launch 32 GB Zen

We reported in October that there was a 1new Creative PMP out in the market simply named - The Creative Zen. The two models 4Gb and 8GB were priced at Rs. 9,999 and Rs. 13,999 respectively and are available in India.

According to a CNET report, this same player is apparently getting an upgrade to include a whopping 32GB of internal memory. The current version also has an SD/MMC card slot in case users wish to up the memory. The newer 32GB version will not be hard drive based but flash based and would, we’re presuming, be a little bigger. There’s no word yet on the release date or any price tag.

Stay Tuned for the Creative Zen review this week.

Avot mV for all Web Enabled Phones

As I must have already mentioned I’ve got a Nokia 6230. I bought it some four or five years ago. At that time it was very popular and expensive too. Tom Cruise had that mobile in some movie … MI2 as far as I remember. There weren’t many like it and it was really cool to have that mobile at that time. Tables have really been turned since then. I’ve been hearing a lot about Windows mobile phones and other N-Series mobile sets and what they can do and while listening to what people are talking it seems like my mobile is out of date and I have to throw it off somewhere.

Anyways, about a month ago I heard about this unique video delivery platform for web enabled phones, iPhone/iPod Touch called Avot mV which enables users to search, personalize and play videos from all over the Internet. I had mentioned about it in my previous posts too. Avot mV is the first of its kind that gives mobile users unlimited access to any web-based videos. Its intelligent search capability incorporates personal preferences so that users can quickly discover and choose from among billions of videos posted on the Web. Also it lets you organize the videos in the internet in the playlist and watch them on the go. Actually turns your mobile phone into a kind of entertainment jukebox allowing you to watch what you want and when you want. And you don’t even need to convert the selected videos to the mobile format. Cool huh?

Well, at that time it was in testing phase limited to certain web enabled mobile phones only and there were many questions that were being raised regarding it’s compatibility with other mobile sets and whether it will be available to other sets such as Motorola Razor, Samsung Sync, LG/Treo or not? Good news is that now it works on your RAZR, iPhone, N75 and many others web enabled phone and they have also added few new features like “Active Search” and “Merlin” which are very similar to features of desktop applications.

Through Active Search, the system basically search through the video index as the user types providing a best fit match. So, only with a few key strokes you can find your favorite video. Merlin is another key feature that enables us to make personalized recommendations to video viewers. More on these features can be found out in Avot mV’s official blog.

Overall, I think Avot mV is a pretty unique innovation that helps to achieve real-time streaming and personalization of video delivery to web-enabled mobile devices and I really look forward to using it in my mobile too. May be I won’t throw it out then. And don’t forget to check out Avot mV’s Product Site and its Corporate Site for details.

Mobile Ringtones

Today we will write a post about the great influence of ringtones to the mobile technology! Noone can deny that ringtones are highly connected to the mobile phones technology. First, we had some simple monophonic ringtones, but this wouldn’t be enough! While the mobile phones were becoming more luxurious, with better screens etc, new types of ringtones appeared! Wav ringtones, polyphonic ringtones, midi ringtones became necessary for your mobile to sound unique!

Then the creation of big memory cards, made possible the use of mp3 ringtones and this seems to be the last ringtone geneartion. High quality mp3 ringtones are used now for your phone to ring with your favorite song, a funny sound effect etc. You can either buy ringtones or get your free ringtones from several sites offering a great variety of high quality ringtones. Unlimited videos on iPhone/iPod Touch

Nowadays, people are always in a rush. They don’t have time even for eating, drinking, and sleeping ….. entertainment is just too far away. For example just look at me, I am busy with my work so much that I don’t even remember when was the last time I watched a movie or a television serial. The only thing that I have is a mobile and an iPod and that’s it. And sometimes when I turn on a TV, my phone rings and I have to go to work. I feel like something is missing out of my life. I really miss my old days.

But now thanks to AvotmV, I have my life back. It’s a leading video delivery platform for iPhone/iPod Touch and other web-enabled mobile devices which enable users to search, personalize and play videos from the Internet no matter where you are. Believe it or not but Avot mV is the first of its kind giving mobile users unlimited access to any web-based video. Just check out Avot mV - Product Site or its Corporate Site. Avot Media is an innovator in intelligent search that helps to achieve near real-time streaming and personalization of video delivery to web-enabled mobile devices. All about watches

Well, a week ago may remember correctly one of my readers left a comment in one of my posts to write about his site watchreport.net. Well, first I went through that site and I found it to be a pretty cool site. Mine is a tech site with few advertisements and why not a post on watches. Watch Report got all the information on watches and how your life can change through the watches. At the time I visited that site there was a post on Unique Musical Wristwatch in the homepage and it was a great post on a unique musical wristwatch which was developed by Reuge, a Swiss music box producer under the brand name of Mermod Freres. I’d like my readers to visit this site if they want info on cool watches.

Protect your ‘i’s

The title may look confusing but if I say that the ‘i’s stand for iPods and iPhones then the title will be clear as water. iPods and iPhones have gain a lot of popularity nowadays. Everyone is carrying an iPod in their pocket and the response towards iPhones is also very positive. People are liking iPhones too. Anyways, these things are pretty expensive and we have to be very cautious while using them. A drop and they may get damaged badly. Taking this into account PDO has come up with its range of iPod and iPhone accessories to protect your ‘i’s. Here you can find Leather Cases, Top skin, Screens Protector, Hip Case, cleaning kits and many other accessories for not only for your ‘i’s but also for other mp3 players, mobile phones, games and PDAs. These stuffs aren’t that expensive but are very useful and give good protection to our expensive toys.

RIM BlackBerry 8820

AT&T and Research in Motion officially released the RIM BlackBerry 8820, the first BlackBerry to offer integrated Wi-Fi. The 820 supports 802.11a/ standards and is compliant with Wi-Fi security protocols, giving users another avenue to connect to the web – a good thing since the device shows no love for 3G just yet. It also continues to offer Bluetooth and GPS support lie it’s older sibling, the RIM BlackBerry 8800, as will as push e-mail and multimedia. It’s a device built with the business user in mind and definitely won’t have the mass appeal of a BlackBerry Pearl of BlackBerry Curve. There’s not even a camera option. That said, for the intended audience the 8820 will certainly deliver the goods and performance.

iPod controller in your finger – iRing

Now all those who got an iPod don’t have to put their hands in their pockets whenever they have to switch to another song or increase/decrease the volume. With this new gadget that fits in your finger, it can be done at your will in just a matter of seconds.

iRing has it … the style and wireless Bluetooth connectivity with your iPod and iPhone that lets you control playback and volume on any of your Apple media devices. And the coolest part is that as its name suggests, it’s a ring that fits in your finger. iRing has got a bright OLED status display with touch-sensitive function strip (though I don’t thin it’s a good idea to have touch-sensitive function strip in it) and a rechargeable battery life of up to 2 days. Overall, it’s a good innovative product and I thing it will be appreciated by people unless it comes with some other drawbacks.

Cheap HDTV

Nowadays where ever you go, you get to hear buzz about the HDTV, the revolutionary innovation in the field of Television. HDTV stands for High Definition TV which is a set of digital TV standards offering the highest resolution and the sharpest of the picture. The majority of HDTVs are wide screen in exception to few standard sized screens. This almost eliminated what we call the letterbox effect when watching movies in their original wide format.

Second Act is one of the online retailers of HDTVs and similar products (LCD flat panel TVs, Plasma TVs, Audio, Vide, etc.) where you can get HDTVs in the lowest price than in any other online retailers that you can find over the internet. The reason behind this is because here you can find the products that are factory refurbished, factory closeouts and overstocks, end-of-life, open box due to which it costs cheaper to them and so they are able to sell for cheaper rates then their competitors. And there’s even more, they have Great Deal of the Day’ feature which you can sign up and receive via email or RSS. In which you can get further discounts on a single item for a 24 hours period. Second Act is the authorized dealer of Sharp, Samsung, Toshiba, Denon, Marantz, and more. So, the variety is unlimited as well as great deals too.

I’ve been longing to get a HDTV since few months back when I first saw it’s advertisement in my old TV and with Second Act I think my search is over.

Dual SIM holder

Dual SIM holder is your solution if you want to get rid of the tension of buying 2 mobile phones because you got 2 SIM or getting the back and battery of your mobile time to time to change to another SIM. This is the simplest and cheapest solution that allows you to connect two SIM cards to your card slot.

It has many drawbacks too like it does not really work with both cards simultaneously. At a time only one SIM is active and the user has to turn off the mobile and back on to change to another SIM. Another kind of Dual SIM holder is there though in which SIM service is activated giving users the ability to switch to another SIM without turning off the mobile. Another big problem is that due to its bigger size it may not fit in some handsets. Hope they will make something else without these flaws someday.

Convert Your Mobile Into An Entertainment Jukebox

I’m sure everyone watches video in their TVs and desktops but I wonder how many people watch real-time videos in their mobile phones. It’s obvious that the number is very low because even the high priced, high quality web-enabled mobile phones display the videos with poor quality. Due to this people are sticking in front of their TV screen and desktops for high quality videos. But desktops and TV sets can’t be carried along wherever we go.

So, Avot Media has come up with Avot mV - a third-generation discovery, personalization and live video streaming service from internet for mobile users. AvotMedia is a leading company in intelligent search, near real-time streaming and personalization of video delivery to web-enabled mobile devices. Avot mV is first of its kind in the world of mobile and media streaming technology which removes all the barriers that limited the mobile users to less video selection and poor-quality display on their web-enabled mobile devices. For this, you need to download Avot mV from its corporate site or the product site. After that mobile users can choose from among billions of videos posted on the web and just with a click access the videos that they like to watch turning you mobile into an entertainment jukebox whenever you like. Currently, Avot mV supports Windows Mobile 5.0, Pocket PC, and Smartphone mobile devices but it’s constantly adding support for additional devices and operating systems.

For more information in Avot mV and its newer versions don’t forget to check out Avot Media Blog.
